Does anyone else get burning aching soles(bottoms) of their feet after excercise... and often the next day (which invariably blurs into all the time untiul they get sick and stop for a week ~ or two)

Huh This happened early last year when I lost 10 kg's as well, so it's not a new thing!

Undecided We googled it as you do... and tried the flexing the foot upwards (quite awkward, but do-able) that provided some relief... but not much as their were still nights and mornings I'd get up to go to the toilet where I couldn't walk... (without stretching and then it was still painful!

Undecided then while I was waiting for a 'weigh-in' one day I found shoe inserts... they help heaps!(they even salvaged an old pair of work shoes that really needed replacing) But I still have times after prolonged sitting that I have a lot of trouble walking because of the pain...

Undecided NOW... I've been sick for weeks and hardly excercising at all and they are still hurting (but not as bad)... any way We heard this doctor on ABC radio suggesting Vitamin B12 shots might help; so I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow...

Huh But does anyone else have the same issue Huh

I've heard it's common in people with diabetes and hypoglycaemia, and although I'm not either, my brother and mum are... and I've always had to be careful with sugar...

Any advice or comments welcome... Kerri

hi,
I've got the same thing... I've just started my bb on fri 9/4/2010 & would be interested to see what can be done.. my feet get so hot it feels like they're on fire after my walk & even during... I've tried using different socks, shoes, but to no avail.. I don't want to do the exercising with bare feet for obvious reasons..

can any1 help or point me in right direction?

Feet are naturely designed with more sweat glands per centimeter of skin than any other part of the body. By producing sweat, the skin stays moist and supple, ensuring the skin on your feet can withstand all the constant moving, squishing and squashing that happens when we walk around on them. Imagine how dry and cracked and painful walking would become!

Sometimes sweating is simply too excessive.

Do you only get hot feet when you exercise?  It could be your socks or even your shoes.  Always try to use natural fibres on your feet ? yes this includes your shoes.  Also after you have exercised, make sure that your shoes are aired properly between wears.  Hot moist environments, like hot sweaty shoes are perfect breeding grounds for fungi and bacteria ? which could be adding to your woes.   If they smell ? it?s a sure sign there?s something not quite right about your shoes and you should consider getting new ones.

What is your stress levels like?  One stress response within the body is sweating feet ? you may not even notice that you are doing it ? they won?t look like a sweaty forehead on a hot day!

Hot feet can have a number of causes. It is important to seek professional medical treatment to rule out the cause.

Vitamin B deficiencies also need to be considered. Your B1, B3, B6 and B12 vitamin levels may need to be evaluated by a medical professional.  A good Nutritionist or Naturopath may be able to assist you here.

Thyroid, liver and kidney dysfunctions can sometimes result in hot or burning feet, and again should be assess by a medical professional.

Inflammation within the body can irritate nerves, especially in the feet.  Try including more anti-inflammatory food sources within your diet such as fish, fish oils, flaxseed oil etc. Also you could try to eliminate acid forming foods such as meats, grains as acid forming foods promote inflammation.

Certain types of Diabetes can also produce symptoms of hot or burning feet.

Without taking a full case history for you, it is difficult to assess your cause, so we would recommend you have this investigated further.

It?s always good to remember that while your symptoms may be the same as another person, the causes may be different ? seeking medical assistance for your symptoms is always recommended.
