How to Lose WeightTo be the best results from your Betty Baxter Weight Management Program and products, here are some simple but great tips and hints on how to lose weight and achieve your weight loss goals:

Clear the environment: remove any “tempting” or high sugar, poor nutritional value foods from the fridge or pantry.

Stock up on all the things you know you can eat on the program. Being prepared is the key and this will prevent any ‘giving in’ to fast food or quick fixes when hungry.

HAVE A GOAL. Choose an achievable and realistic goal. Then break it down into more manageable sections - 'milestones' that give you a number of smaller goals that are achievable, and realistic. It’s often easier to achieve small goals one at a time on the way to your desired goal, than to try and achieve it all at once. Plus, setting milestones gives you lots of reasons to celebrate your success as you progress towards your goal.

CONGRATULATE YOURSELF: Rewarding yourself along the way is like giving yourself a pat on the back for your hard work. Use your favourite form of pampering, eg. go to a movie, have a massage, or give yourself permission to sit on a headland and look at the view for a while to celebrate what you have achieved.  If your favourite treat is a "naughty' snack, then think of a way to spend that same amount of money on something special for yourself - even something small can be a great reward.

STAY MOTIVATED: Often weight loss starts for a short term goal like a wedding or special celebration. Short term goals are great in helping you start your weight loss, but are not always as good at keeping you motivated long term.  To help you achieve a healthier lifestyle and keep the weight off long term, take some time and write down the things you would like to do once you have reached your weight loss goal, especially things you may have been putting off because of your weight issues.  Look back on these regularly, check your progress towards your goals to help keep you motivated.
